Fundraising Events

Alexia was excited about the mission of Fun Time Early Childhood Academy and wanted to support them. She donated a painting for silent auction as well as her books to raise money for this worthy cause at their annual gala event in February 2020.

“Tearless” Exhibition at ALLOUCHE GALLERY

Alexia’s original artwork was on display and available for purchase at the prestigious Allouche Gallery in New York on April 7, 2019 at 82 Gansevoort Street, New York, NY 10014.

All paintings were sold and Alexia had commissions for several more pieces. She raised over $50,000 for the Dysautonomia Foundation, Inc.

Ocean

I love the Ocean. Love how it feels. It is freedom. I can move around freely without my walker.

Sand

Sand makes me feel happy because I can walk around without my shoes. Funny, because it is the opposite of my FD friends, who don’t like sand.

Palm

I love seeing the palm tree leaves blowing in the breeze and the shadows they make when it’s sunny. I wanted to show the living leaves dancing in harmony.

Sunset

I feel joy looking at the different colors of the sky from my apartment window, especially the yellow, orange and red colors when the sun goes into the water, the end of another great day.

Starry Sky

I painted this in honor of my wonderful grandmother, Manny, who would be 104 years old April 7th, the day of “Tearless”. I know she is with us, on one of those stars, enjoying this exhibition. This painting makes me feel peaceful and hopeful.

Sky

I am visually impaired, legally blind. But so delighted that I can see the blue sky. I also love seeing all the different shapes of the clouds. The brightness of the sky reflects brightness in me.

Celebration of Life

The round, colored objects are balloons or flowers. I feel energized when I look at this painting, because it has a lot of bright colors. They represent my excitement about life.

Charity Art Sale

Charity 5K Marathon

In May 2011, Alexia trained for 9 months to complete a 5K charity marathon in London and was delighted to learn she raised more funds for KIDS, a disabled children’s organization than they had ever received before from a sole contributor.
